Hay Skids from Te Slaa Mfg are not built to just feed hay, but to feed hay efficiently. One of the primary ways a farmer can cut forage costs is to decrease wate. Our skid bunks were built with that in mind.
Conventional hay bunks were built such that hay that fell past the bars would end up on the ground, wasted. Our new feeder design is built so that hay that falls past the first layer of bars falls down onto the feeding pan, keeping it in the feeder. This is accomplished by the inner row of bars. A V-type center pushes feed to the outside of the feeder where livestock can reach it, but the second set of bars keeps it contained.
The Te Slaa Hay Skid has a frame built entirely of square and rectangular tubing, to give it strength. The 12 gauge feed pan helps withstand abuse, as well as the weather.
